Exploring the summit area of Mt. Misen

The true value of Miyajima is said to lie in the breathtakingly beautiful panoramic view from the summit of the 535-meter high Mt. Misen. It is also believed that Buddhist saint Kobodaishi Kukai founded temples in this sacred mountain. It is home to many temples, shrines and legends related to Kukai.
